Young Audiences of Massachusetts Art Unveiling at the Kennedy Day School

June 20 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

*This event is by invitation only

Young Audiences of Massachusetts, local artist Eric Bornstein, and students at the Kennedy Day School at Franciscan Children’s will participate in unveiling a unique large-scale artwork.

The culmination of a month-long artistic collaboration will be unveiled, representing the themes of “Friendship and Music.” Sponsored by Young Audiences of Massachusetts, the creative experience was part of a Healing Arts series that gives children with special educational needs and medically complex diagnoses an opportunity to interact and engage with the arts. Students worked directly with Young Audiences teaching artist, Eric Bornstein, to create two sets of multi panel canvas paintings. During the creation of these pieces, students participated in a guided hands-on experience to express their creativity and perspective without language.

Representatives who can speak about the school, collaboration, students and the role of art in wellness will be on hand to answer questions and speak about the art and program.  Funding for this project was made possible by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
