When it comes to children’s health, our job extends beyond our campus. At all government levels, decisions are being made every day that impact health care for children. Franciscan Children’s is committed to advocating for the issues that impact the children and families we serve.
We Support Medicaid
Did you know that more than 30 million children receive health care coverage through the Medicaid program?
In Massachusetts, there are 355,000 children on Medicaid. Many of them receive care at Franciscan Children’s through the diverse inpatient, residential, and outpatient services we provide.
Many of the children we serve have complex needs that require extended stays, appointments with specialists, select medications, and adapted medical equipment. Without Medicaid, these children and their families would not be able to afford these expenses.
In these times of uncertainty in health care, Franciscan Children’s supports the Medicaid program in providing affordable, accessible coverage to the children and families that we serve.
We know that early investments made in the health of children will positively impact their lives and society for years to come.
If you support the Medicaid program and want to see funding maintained for the children we serve at Franciscan Children’s, please use the Children’s Hospital Association’s recommended helpful tool, Speak Now for Kids, to write to your legislators.
Tell us: how has Medicaid affected your family’s life? Your story is important, and has the power to promote conversation around Medicaid and positively impact the lives of children and families who rely on the program for health care coverage.
