Providing comprehensive preventative and therapeutic oral health care services to over 6,000 children each year requires a passion for service, a positive attitude, and a commitment to excellence and innovation. The staff in our Dentistry programs – both in the clinic and in our surgical suite – go above and beyond when it comes to meeting those standards and serving children and families from our local community.

Dr. Anubha Sacheti, one of the pediatric dentists in our Surgical Services program, extended that commitment to excellence and innovation beyond the surgical suite when she competed on the Intel created reality show, America’s Greatest Makers, that aired on TBS. Alongside her partners, Dr. Sacheti successfully navigated and ultimately won the first season of this groundbreaking show where designers and developers pitch their devices, then defend them against competitors with the victor taking home a $1,000,000 grand prize.

Sacheti and her team worked together to pitch the “Grush” – a digital toothbrush that transforms teeth brushing into a fun activity where interactive games entertain and motivate children while also allowing adults to digitally track their child’s brushing habits. A practical application of powerful technology, the Grush is the ultimate product of Sacheti’s professional expertise and personal experience.

“As a dentist, I have been committed to preventing tooth decay, a common chronic disease among children. As a mother, I wanted to help end the ‘battle in the bathroom’ over brushing,” Sacheti told Intel CEO and judge, Brian Krzanich, at the AGM finale. “This dream is now a reality, as soon as Grush will be available in America.”

As a Pediatric Dentist in the Surgical Services program at Franciscan Children’s, Dr. Sacheti has privileges in our Operating Room. A wonderful example of our mission in action – she brings her clinical know-how and positivity to the surgical suite. Sacheti serves her patients who need restorative dental care that can best be delivered while the child is under anesthesia, in our Operating Room. In addition to delivering surgical care at Franciscan, she’s also an advocate of our efforts to raise the visibility and philanthropic support of the organization.

“As valued members of our Pediatric Dentistry team, Dr. Sacheti and her colleagues use ingenuity to address patient challenges in our Dental Clinic every day,” said John Nash, President and CEO of Franciscan Children’s. “Innovation is a key part of our commitment to providing excellence in care here at Franciscan, and we’re thrilled to see [Sacheti’s] success in sharing that innovation on a global scale.”

Congratulations, Dr. Sacheti and team Grush! We appreciate your dedication to and passion for creating a product that undoubtedly reflects our commitment to helping children reach their fullest potential and live their best life. We look forward to seeing how your success positively impacts the lives of families around the world!
