Franciscan Children’s is proud to participate in the 130th Boston Marathon as part of the Boston Athletic Association’s Charity Program. This is our second Boston Marathon Team. We have 5 amazing runners who will take to the course on April 20, 2026 and run 26.2 miles for our kids and families.
This exciting opportunity allows us to take strides – both literally and figuratively – so every kid can!
When you donate to our Boston Marathon fundraising campaign, you’re directly contributing to our mission of providing a compassionate and positive environment for children facing mental health challenges, complex medical conditions, or special education needs. Located in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston, Franciscan Children’s has been a cornerstone of New England’s pediatric healthcare system since 1949, offering excellence, innovation, and unparalleled family support.
Your Generosity Helps Us:
Together, we can ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive, grow, and achieve their full potential.

“The biggest reason to run for me is the kids; treating these kids has always been a tremendous privilege, but just to know them and love them during their time here and beyond is the greatest honor,” - Erin Donnelly
"It always impresses me how team members at the Fran generate such positivity in, frankly, an emotionally taxing environment... Without the Fran (and other facilities like it), I don't see how these children and their families find hope. So, I wanted to run the Boston Marathon for the Fran's team to keep supporting that vision of hope," - Caleb Donnelly

"When I was in high school, I experienced a huge loss when my Aunt Shannon passed away after her long and various struggles with mental health. Her loss left a profound impact on my family, and I have carried the understanding of how devastating mental health challenges can be. Now, I have the incredible opportunity to give back in my Aunt Shannon's memory."
