Franciscan Hospital for Children Welcomes New Manager of Surgical Services

Franciscan welcomes Elizabeth Smith, RN, to the Leadership Team as Manager of Surgical Services

(Boston, MA- March 3, 2015) -Franciscan Hospital for Children, the leading pediatric rehabilitation center in New England announces today that Elizabeth Smith, RN, has been hired as Manager of Surgical Services at the hospital. Most recently, Smith was responsible for the Pediatric ICU and related functions including Child Life Services at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU in Richmond, Virginia.

In her role as manager of surgical services, Smith will be directly responsible for overseeing the operations and staff in the hospital’s 3 surgical suites. She will be actively involved in overseeing the delivery of personalized, compassionate care to children who require dental procedures involving anesthesia, the most common type of surgical procedure conducted at Franciscan.  Smith’s extensive background spanning healthcare management and nursing as well as her commitment to the delivery of high-quality children’s healthcare has given her the necessary background to excel in this position.

Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University and a Master’s in Business and Health Administration from Boston University. She currently resides in Lowell, MA.
