Grand Opening of New Balance Foundation Wing at Franciscan Hospital for Children’s Kennedy Day School
WHAT: Franciscan Hospital for Children will host the grand opening of the New Balance Foundation wing of the Kennedy Day School, a special education school for students with intensive special needs and challenges. First breaking ground in May of 2010, the two-story school offers larger classrooms, therapy rooms and other spaces for learning and specialized equipment that will make it possible for children to work towards independence. The new and improved Kennedy Day School will enable therapists and teachers to continue to foster the development of meaningful skills and positive self-concept among their students.
The grand opening will include a reception with remarks by John Nash, Bob Needham and Anne Davis as well as tours through the new space including the Hyman Novack Music Therapy Center, Alan Shoolman Memorial Library, Dropkick Murphys/Claddagh Fund Family Conference Room, EchoStor Technologies Communication Center and the Judy and Jonathan Parkhurst Classroom.
