Website Privacy Statement

Franciscan Children’s respects your privacy.

You may use Franciscan Children’s web site without disclosing personally identifiable information. We will not obtain such information about you unless you choose to submit it to us.

We have taken reasonable steps to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of personally identifiable information that you may choose to submit to us. You should understand, however, that electronic transmissions via the Internet are not necessarily secure from interception and so we cannot guarantee the security or confidentiality of such transmissions.

Personal health information should never be sent to our website.  For information on how Franciscan Children’s uses and discloses personal health information, please open and read the Franciscan Children’s Notice of Privacy Practices.

The Franciscan Children’s web site is not designed to attract children. Franciscan Children’s does not target children for the collection of information online and does not knowingly collect personally identifying information from minors unless we first obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian. Franciscan Children’s encourages parents and guardians to spend time online with their children, so they can monitor their child’s online activities.

The Franciscan Children’s webserver collects and saves certain default information customarily logged by internet server software. We retain logs containing the following information about the use of our website: date and time, originating IP address and domain name (the unique address assigned to your Internet service provider’s computer that connects to the Internet), object requested, and completion status of the request. We use these logs to help improve our service by evaluating the “traffic” to our site in terms of number of unique visitors, level of demand, most popular page requests, and types of errors.  These logs may be kept for an indefinite amount of time, used at any time and in any way necessary to prevent security breaches and to ensure the integrity of the data on our servers.  Except for authorized law enforcement investigations or other facially valid legal processes, we will not share any information we receive with any outside parties.

Any questions with respect to this Website Privacy Statement should be directed to the Franciscan Children’s compliance hotline 1-617-779-1111 or email to Privacy@FranciscanChildrens.org.
