6^th Annual Boston WIFFLE Ball Challenge

Franciscan Children’s & the Travis Roy Foundation, Inc.

Boston (May 24, 2016) – On Saturday,  June 11, 2016, Franciscan Children’s and the Travis Roy Foundation, Inc. team up to host the 6^th Annual Boston WIFFLE Ball Challenge at the New Balance Field at Boston University, and marquee names from across the Boston business community will swing and run bases for the coveted championship title.

Sponsors for 2016 with teams participating are a venerable who’s who among leading Hub businesses, including: New Balance, Appleton Partners, Hemenway & Barnes, CBRE, Cambridge Savings Bank, John Hancock, Suffolk Construction, Fallon Ambulance Service, Mintz Levin and the Boston Bruins Foundation, as well as the Beanpot Men’s Hockey Teams.

All proceeds will benefit Franciscan Children’s, which each year provides care and education to more than 12,000 children with a wide range of medical, mental health and educational challenges and the Travis Roy Foundation, which is dedicated to enhancing the life of individuals with spinal cord injuries and funding research.

Nash, President and CEO of Franciscan Children’s, Travis Roy, comedian Lenny Clarke and Red Sox World Series Champion Lenny DiNardo will also be in attendance to show their support for the teams.

The first round of games will be played at 8:30 a.m. followed by the opening ceremony at 9:15 a.m. and championship game just before 2 p.m. The public is welcome to attend and cheer on family and friends while enjoying an action-packed summer day full of baseball-themed activities and a raffle which features Boston sports memorabilia and more.
