Franciscan Children’s Welcomes New Child Psychiatrist and Neuropsychologist
BOSTON — Franciscan Children’s, the leading pediatric rehabilitation center in New England and a leading provider of pediatric mental health care for children and adolescents, today announced the addition of Dr. Georgina Garcia, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, and Dr. Trudi Koslof, Pediatric Neuropsychologist.
In their roles, Dr. Garcia and Dr. Koslof will provide care for outpatients in Franciscan Children’s Behavioral Health Services clinic in close collaboration with Franciscan’s other outpatient services, including its primary care practice. Dr. Garcia will also provide psychiatric care for Franciscan’s school-based mental health services, the Children’s Wellness Initiative, which serves eight Boston Public Schools.
Franciscan Children’s is dedicated to providing excellent care for infants, children and adolescents, serving the needs of Boston and beyond. The collaborative nature of Franciscan’s services recognizes the importance of all aspects of a child’s health, both physical and mental.
“The need for behavioral health care for children and adolescents is not diminishing, and we continue to build our staff to meet the psychological, social and emotional needs of all children who walk through our doors,” said Dr. Paul Geltman, M.D., MPH, Medical Director of Ambulatory Care Services. “Both Dr. Garcia and Dr. Koslof will provide outpatient care to youth struggling with anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, brain injury, mood disorders and other complex challenges.”
Dr. Georgina Garcia
Most recently, Dr. Garcia was an Associate Psychiatrist at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she also completed her fellowship. She also served as Psychiatry Director at Germaine Lawrence, a residential treatment facility for girls ages 12 to 21 in Arlington, and prior to that, was Director of Adolescent Residential Services at the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center. Dr. Garcia is a graduate of Dartmouth College with a B.A. in psychology and anthropology. She completed her medical degree at the University of Iowa College of Medicine and residency at Tufts New England Medical Center.
Dr. Trudi Koslof
Dr. Koslof joins Franciscan Children’s from McLean Hospital, Child and Adolescent Testing Services, where she completed her post-doctoral fellowship, conducting neuropsychological and psychodiagnostic evaluations for patients, ages 6 to 26, with complex social-emotional challenges. Prior to that, she completed an Advanced Clerkship at New England Assessment and Treatment Group, where she worked with both adults and pediatric patients suffering from attention deficits, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury and other disorders. She earned her B.A. in Psychology at Washington University in St. Louis and her Doctorate in Psychology at William James College.
