Franciscan Children’s Welcomes New Primary Care Pediatrician, Dr. Laura Livaditis

BOSTON – Franciscan Children’s, the leading pediatric rehabilitation center in New England and a leading provider of pediatric mental health care for children and adolescents, today announced the addition of Dr. Laura Livaditis to the Franciscan Children’s Pediatric Primary Care Clinic.

In this role, Dr. Livaditis is responsible for providing preventive and urgent care for outpatients in the primary care practice. Franciscan Children’s Pediatrics is dedicated to providing excellence in primary care for infants, children and adolescents, serving the needs of Boston and beyond with a patient-centered medical home model. This model emphasizes collaborative care in a team structure, including care coordination with other providers for children with chronic medical or behavioral conditions.

“Each member of the Franciscan Children’s Pediatrics team is dedicated to delivering excellence in care to every family who walks through our doors,” said Dr. Paul Geltman, M.D., MPH, Medical Director of Ambulatory Care Services. “Dr. Livaditis is a valuable addition to our team as we seek to increase the availability of our outpatient services to the community. She brings with her impressive experience with children from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds, including work with children in rural Haiti to Native American families in Arizona.”

Most recently, Dr. Livaditis was a resident in The Harriet Lane Pediatric Residency Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She graduated from The Johns Hopkins University in 2011 with a double major in English and public health. After earning her M.D. at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, she returned to Johns Hopkins for her pediatrics residency in 2015.

Dr. Livaditis is also focused on medical writing, medical education, advocating for incarcerated youth, enhancing patient-provider communication and utilizing electronic medical record technology to optimize preventive care.

Dr. Livaditis currently resides locally with her fiancé, a surgery resident in Boston.
