Thank You Dropkick Murphy’s

As snow falls on a chilly day, Franciscan Children’s prepares for a special visit from popular Boston Celtic punk band, Dropkick Murphy’s.

“We were so excited when we heard they were coming. I love their music and it was cool they wanted to hang out with us,” a Unit 1 patient said. Kids and staff danced and sang along as the group performed their hit “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” as well as unique versions of holiday classics.

No strangers to Franciscan Children’s, the group has pledged to visit our kids for a concert each year. Thanks to their longstanding generosity, our patients and students got to enjoy a memorable moment with the band.

“Being able to come home and visit all the awesome kids at Franciscan Children’s is my favorite part of the holidays – despite any challenges they might be facing, their energy always lights up the room,” Ken Casey, Dropkick Murphy’s frontman, said.

In addition to their performance, the band contributed $20,000 through their charitable arm, The Claddagh Fund. We would like to thank Dropkick Murphy’s for their inspiring commitment and partnership and are already looking forward to next year’s performance!
