Speech-Language Pathology
At Franciscan Children’s, our Speech-Language Pathologists evaluate and provide therapy and provide therapy to children with speech, language, and feeding or swallowing problems.
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) who are pediatric specialists provide services within various programs, including Inpatient Pulmonary and Pediatric Rehabilitation Programs, the Kennedy Day School and on an outpatient basis.
SLPs also provide services as part of Multidisciplinary Teams. These include the Augmentative Communication/Assistive Technology (ACAT) Clinic, swallowing evaluations, and Outpatient Feeding Team.
SLPs provide evaluations and individualized treatment recommendations in the following areas:
- Receptive and expressive language skills
- Articulation
- Voice
- Fluency
- Oral motor/feeding skills
Additional assessments may be recommended:
- Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC) Clinic evaluation
- Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) study
Outpatient Feeding Team evaluation
Referrals are accepted from physicians, parents, public and private schools, therapists, and other health agencies/providers. Franciscan Children’s is a provider for most area insurers as well as public and private agencies. Services can be arranged on an individual or group basis.
